Technology Transfer

Innovation & Intellectual Property (IIP) within Research & Graduate Studies serves as the technology transfer office for Portland State University. Since opening in 2008, IIP has aided the success and external distribution of research projects from a wide range of PSU departments and disciplines, from engineering and chemistry to linguistics and environmental science.

IIP focuses on use and impact, and intellectual property is used as a tool to help PSU innovations go beyond the walls of the university where they can do the most good. When and where appropriate, this includes facilitating commercialization of PSU innovations.

At PSU, theory is put into practice by working with businesses, non-profits, civic groups, and government agencies. Through these strong alliances, PSU serves as a catalyst for innovation and shared prosperity.
